blog it unblog it

Blog it unblog it
There's a snazzy kids video series out there from yesteryear called "Threads." I remember a particular video the kids and I watched numerous times with some very memorable tunes. We still sing the 2 major ones we remember. The one is about "unpigging the pond" (literally, taking all the pigs out of the pond, which requires music...of course). So, the lyrics in the tune mention a lot of opposite verbage like "pig it, unpig it" "clog it, unclog it" and so on. Naturally, in the spirit of beating dead horses in which I was raised and still live, I am always bringing up such notions and my gracious wife tolerates and ever appreciates such madness. And hence, my title today! Blog it, unblog it. But wait. There's more. If you act now, I will tell you about the other song. It's about the elephants who have the birthday cake that the posse lost in the mine shaft coaster thing. And, the memorable line is "this band's so hot I'm soakin." In other words, the band makes you want to dance and you just keep on dancing and dancing and dancing and then you're soakin (or something like that). So, here I go. When I am on the treadmill, ultimately I am soakin. Recently it is never because the band I'm listening to is hot, nor the television program that is in front of me is hot. The words to notice here are "I am on the treadmill" and "recently." This is good sign. Today, I will do so again and it will most assuredly be 'crisp like lettuce.' I will mow the lawn before I walk though. And, yes, it is a nozone action day and I will be defiant and mow now anyway. I'm still exercising for the long haul. I'm running less and walking more so I don't burn out like I used to when I would train for marathon or do the lifting for 6 and 8 months at a time. My usual routine is 45 minutes at (ultimately) 8% incline at somewhere between 3.5 and 4 mphs. If you asked me 3 years ago, I would have said that is wimpy and lame. But, i realize it is sustainable and that it doesn't get so taxing that it annoys the crap out of me such that I won't do it anymore. When we were in Lebanon and prior, I would run 2 miles and shoot for 7:30 minute split times on the miles and, frankly, that just got to be taxing on the old bod such that I would dread it and then I was like, "what are you doing this for?" and besides...it's way hard to pick up all the screws and nuts and pennies on the street when you run that fast!!! So, I modified to walking again so I could get the jar of rusty metal crap stocked up again. I find it more amusing to pick up rusty metal crap with my hands than in my car tires cuz that usually means you have a leak in your tire if not a flat. Here's a wacky secret that I wouldn't tell everyone. It is actually more expensive for my family when I exercise more cuz I eat more and then, also, because I need the calories, I crave stuff. It's cool that I can eat it and use the calories efficiently but it's not cool that I have to pay for it. :-) I know that's silly. It won't make me stop exercising but I'm just sayin. That's probably way more topically relevant then me singing you more lyrics from "Threads."Blog it, unblog it. Billy Blanks (Tae Bo dude) says something like, 'folks that think about exercising are always surpassed by the ones actually doing it.' Ron from my old house church used to always say, "ain't nothing to it but to do it." Those are both good quotes I believe. I will now, in this order, mow my lawn, hit the treadmill, order text books for the physical trainer certification exam, make 2 phone calls to prospective employers, eat some lunch, and wait for amusing theological emails from my favorite sister. Here's my parting remark on moods. I quote Billy Crystal. "You know dahling, you look mahvelous. it is better to look good then to feel good." While you know the line of thinking breaks down at some point, I say this (Scripturally sound even) - feelings deceive us as we know - and, secondly, the quote speaks a positive message to us exercising cuz it helps us 'look good.' That was very disconnected but you get the point.Blog it unblog it.

I'm exercising every day, so why do I still feel so lame?

Walked Wed, Thu, Fri of last week, and again yesterday and today. Hoping to do some core strengthening exercises later today. Trying to get that in, as the thickness around the middle is starting to bother me. (I think some of that is also just extra flab, which losing 10-12 lbs would take care of.) (10-12 is all I ask. I would like to match my driver's license again. I used to lie on my driver's license by about 15 lbs (it said 135 when I was 150), but when I was 138 [for approximately 8 years, from 1998 until 2006, with fluctuations around pregnancies of course] I was so pleased that I went ahead and let it say 140. But now it's off again.....)

Still struggling with monthly mood issues. (aha! that answers the question posed in post title!)

Picked 4 cucumbers from plants yesterday and have a few more still growing. One ginormous tomato (ok, not ginormous; you'd need about 5 of them to equal 1 of Steve Loyal's mammoth onions (did you see those things?)), anyway, one largeish tomato is starting to turn red and it looks like I might be able to harvest our first cherry/grape tomatoes later this week. Also could have harvested about 10 snap peas, but I left them on and will get them when there are more like 20. (You know, some number that is divisible by 4, to make a reasonable side to the dinner.) (Though I'm sure I could eat 20 snap peas as I'm harvesting without putting a dent in what I eat at dinner.) (This is my problem, you see.) Zucchini plants: one looks just about dead and the other one has some blossoms but I still don't see any baby zucchinis. I'm still hopeful though. (I thought zucchini was supposed to take over the garden and way over-produce.....) Lettuce was a big disappointment this year. There is one long skinny pepper--I thought it was supposed to be a jalapeno plant, but it sure doesn't look like it. I will let you eat it, in case it's something super hot.

Did you see comment from Carol (Collins)? She's showing me up on my own blog! I saw her at church and she asked if I had a blog, since she knows I read hers....and I told her about ours and the purpose, and commented on hers about something else, and that's how she found it. (Tell Christie about this project--they are taking wedding dresses to Cambodia so a bunch of women who have been rescued from sexual slavery can start a dress-rental business. They rent wedding dresses there--isn't that smart? Anyway, I commented that my dress was too big as they are asking for size 0-8. But tell C. in case she wants to donate her dress, if she hasn't already done something with it.)

Perhaps I will write again later. I am looking for an outlet for some theological stuff that's been floating around in my brain. we shall see!

Ox blox.

no window shopping

Despite many grand awesome eating functions in Cali. - I think balance was achieved. There were many long walks. Several miles were walked on the beach each time we went. At one juncture it was so cold we walked the whole beach twice. Bonus! Also, Santa Barbara and Solvang are apparently nice for window shopping. I still cannot speak to that but I can say they are great for walking! We briskly walked around the entire city of Solvang one beautiful afternoon! Sweet.

Back home again in Indiana. There is more than corn in Indiana. Examples: My lawnmower and my treadmill. Both will be used today.

Fitness is a journey and not a destination. That's what it says on the baked lay's bag. I like it. Really I like that I have more energy and sleep less when I exercise. I like guacamole too. I'm not exactly sure why we don't include it in thanksgiving dinners and remove the potato, corn, and stuffing. I say we add whole new meaning to the term "being green.". It's not easy being green.

west coast shuffle

Walked about 5 or 6 miles down to the coast and then on over to east beach, yesterday. Nothing too strenuous but enough to keep the juices flowin! Wednesday before flyin out, I did do a reasonable set of isometrics, figuring a half day in plane wouldn't do me any justice.

Last week I was good about doin something every other day. My typical now is about 45 minutes on treadmill with incline.

Seems like there'll be plenty of time for walkin during the vacation week. Sweet.

Plenty of fresh fruits too. Bonus!

30 June 2008

update

4 days last week, plus today, of walking.

Eating habits still bad.

Plus, no additional exercise.

Calgon, take me away!

choppin broccoli

Okay. That's not really exercise. But it is amusing remembering old snl skits now and again. Choppin the sugar maple tree and loading wood into a van, now THAT was saturday's major exercise. The double whammy was that I hasd spent 45 minutes on the treadmill earlier that day also. I get an extra shiny sticker in my composition book this week.

So, saturday did a number on the ol' bod. Felt good though.

On Monday, I spent 60 minutes on the treadmill. I'm increasing the speed and grade these days. Most of the fast walk is at 5 percent though I'm now hitting 7.5 percent for a good part also. Feel the burn. ;-)

I have been trying to stretch my neck and back and shoulders more these days. I don't have ritual yet but I do think about now and again so go ahead and engage.

What? Did you say another shiny star in the composition book??

Thank you!!

Today on my drive back from running errand, I was speaking spanish with an australian accent with a lisp. I may not be a former member of the Falcons like Fonzie but you can see that I'm still a rebel and a maniac with cutting edge ways of partying. I am partying the Red Sea.

Boo-yah!

I don't know what that means but it probably affirms my coolness.

(Insert shiny star here)

amazingly tricky

Did you say five in a row??!! Pretty sneaky sis!!! That's better than four in a row diagonally!!

On a scale of one to ten....we would never be more than ten pounds. Wow.

So last friday I kept the t-mill runnin (though I was walkin) for 1 whole hour. I got in the groove during some cheesy Cosby episodes on channel 40. It felt good. I got sweaty. Sweaty like Eddie. Through the weekend I was a steady sweaty Eddie. On saturday we went to lafayette and walked the downtown streets after checkin out C's girlfriend's art gallery amidst the music and arts festival thingy there. On sunday I hit many golfballs at the range and then mowed the grass. It was reasonably active weekend. I'm not sure what tape we'll pop in tonight but it is sure to be captimulatingly stumuvating.

We watched all three matrix movies over the weekend. Groovy. That proves that I'm not always active.

Keep on walkin in the free world!!

And that, as you can see, is amazingly tricky.

13 June 2008

5 in a row

Ok, so I've walked 25-40 minutes every day this week. Score!

Maybe I'll add something to the regimen next week. The post that Blogger ate was all about how I know variety is good for your body but routine is good for my brain but also how even my routine-loving brain likes to shake things up now and then (like, try doing things left-handed you don't normally do left-handed....it kind of tickles your brain). (Note: Do not try this with power tools.)

How YOU doin? (pronounced not like Billy Blanks, but like Joey Tribiani).

(Oh yeah, the post Blogger ate also talked about my Tae Bo DVD that I've had for about 3 years. It's still shrink-wrapped. Maybe I'll unwrap it today!)

11 June 2008

billy blanks

How you feelin?

That's what billy says. My answer, after yesterday is "a little sore.". I thinkb it is cuz those tae bo moves make my body stretch way further than they are used to. I'm sure that is good long term. I really need to stretch more in general. My flexibilty stinks with a capital s and that rhymes with chest so let's go dig up some buried treasure. Sometimes I think my destiny contains physical treasure to be found. In the meantime, I will keep exercising and making good eating choices and drinking lots of water. Ice mountain is purified by reverse osmosis. That's probably better than perverse psychosis. See ya.

08 June 2008

looking back to end of laat week

Thursday indeed entailed gnarly denise austin workout. She combined kick boxing, step aerobics, yoga, and weight training into something that should be called "you will hurt for the next two days no matter what.". Anyway, it hurt but felt good to accomplish. That was thursday after work. On friday, was very active with yard stuff, mowing chopping, spraying, etc.

Weekend has entailed little exercise and/or activity mostly cuz of outdoor dampness. Perhaps after church the family (4) can have a go on the treadmill, whoever wants, though we have company coming at 4. We'll see.

As for calories, BMR (basal metabolic rate) is an old fixture in health science. It varies based on height, gender, age, and activity level (and weight to go over or under). You can find BMR calculators on line. There are pretty standard multipliers for activity level and the rest is simple math to gain or lose or stay the same weight the rest of your life. The net has thousands of calorie counting resources so it's not nearly as cumbersome to count calories as it was in my young 20s to start learning about such things.

Sorry for the long answer. When I run three days a week (2 miles moderately), I can do a 1.5 multiplier and still lose weight. My lifestyle is somewhat mobile anyway. Right now, I'm doing my best to stay below a 1.375 multiplier, knowing that I want to lose weight. I think my baseline comes out to 1975 or something like that right now.

When I train for mini, it gets fun to try to not lose too much weight. I can remember being 20 pounds less and having to force myself to eat more and choose sugar filled drinks to get extra calories so as to not keep losing weight.

As I recall mathematically, 3500 calories are a pound so in essence shaving 500 calories off your exacted baseline times exacted multiplier will have you losing 1 pound a week (though bad to think like that cuz it becomes like saving for retirement and you feel like a little won't do much but slow and steady will win the non-race life journey to continued good health). Actually pound a week pace is a habit forming and good pace cuz most want to get way more radical and see faster results but they then burnout cuz they starve themselves.

Anyway, sorry for the pamphlet. I'm done with breakfast. Raisin bran, milk, and a yogurt. 560 calories total. Easy game though much more difficult to tally the casseroles. Doable though. Later Gator!

06 June 2008

Belated Wednesday

On Wed, Ella and I tromped around the flooded golf course. (Ok, the course itself was mostly not flooded--though it was pretty squishy), but the retention ponds were way overflowing and part of the golf cart path was underwater, including an entire BRIDGE that ostensibly goes over the retention pond. We weren't going fast enough, though.

I am really hoping my neighbor is up for walking next week because that would be way more motivating than anything else.

Last night went to see Shine a Light (Stones concert flick) with mom and dad (Father's Day present).......It wasn't as good as the U2 IMAX concert flick, which was AWESOME, but it was nice to be there anyway. Those are some gnarly old dudes. Except for Charlie Watts; he's normal-looking. He must smoke less than the other 3 main guys.

calories? wow. What's your daily target?

thursday shmurzday

Today I will work out. It is undecided what will be done but it will be done. I have been writing down caloric intake lately and exactly. It keeps me in check. I find it effective plus there so many web resources for calorie figuring. Basically I just do the simple math compared to my rough baseline and make sure I stay under to shed some pounds. Things compound as I get into habits of heightened activity, doin this workin out stuff. I have learned fairly decently my baselines and have actually found myself able to gauge hunger again, knowing and feeling I need to eat more as I exercise more or eat less as I get sedentary for a few days in a row. Sometimes I get sedimentary and that's really weird. It's sedimentary my dear Watson. And sometimes metamorphic.

I guess what I'm saying is that even though the schedule hasn't permitted fantabulous exercising number (as I had hoped), I'm starting to feel and see, at least, some comprehensive effort. I'm trying not to get psycho extreme with spreadsheets and checklists cuz I tend to overdo it and then burn out after a few months only to rest from it for a year. So, for now, I have paper on the table and write the cals. Total it at the end of the day. I've played with baselines versus activity levels in the past so I know basically where I'm at and right now I am working into a good place it seems. I am hoping to sustain present course.

Tonight will entail treadmill or aerobic tape, maybe some accompanying isometric (weight lifting without weights) action. Party on Wayne. I think I might have to mow tonight also? Party on Garth.

You didn't know wayne newton and garth brooks were pals did you?

03 June 2008

Chiquita Tamale, Ole, Ole

When I hopped out of bed this morning, I put on my exercise clothes, planning for an exercise break later in the day. But then, before I got to the break, Mom dropped in for lunch after she went to Curves. She brought frozen tamales from TJs and raw sugar snap peas. YUM. But it took a lot longer than I would normally take for lunch, and I had too much work to take ANOTHER break. Maybe when I'm done working and get dinner started, I will have time to cram something in. But it was nice to see Mom.

Cosmo Workout

Wow. The old school aerobic tape from Goodwill, the "Cosmopolitan (magazine) low or high impact workout" was exhillirating. If that means something like "hard to follow" then it really was. The main gal was doing high impact and the gals behind were doing low impact. I was somewhere in between, basically jumping around like a monkey, sweating and such. The music was sweet. Sweet like sweet potato without all the brown sugar and syrup. Did I mention sweating? Yes. It was done. Muscles a flarin. Heart a thumpin. Frogs a courtin. Houston, this is Apollo June 2. We lifted off. All systems were a go. I better stop procrastinating and start tweaking resumes and getting inspired now to kick tookas in my up and coming career endeavor(s).

old joints

What up, bro? That camping trip got us off our mojo. (Oops, edited to add---NOW I see that you did post. I find my feedreader is off by a few hours, which I find exceedingly annoying. We also had a huge crop of strawberries this weekend--the first one since we've lived here that I would actually call a crop rather than just "a handful." Don't know if that's due to cool rainy weather of May, or that the plants ahve finally matured to a point where they can produce a crop. Either way, I was psyched. Glad you were active over weekend. I did lots of stick-picking-up and covered areas of the garden with newspaper to discourage weed growth, and hung some pictures, but on the whole it could not be counted as exercise. However, perhaps the garden part was hard on my knees--see below.)

Ok, so I managed 30 minutes on treadmill earlier today, but I had to slow down from 3.5 mph to around 2.7, because my knee was "twinging" -- sort of an ice pick feeling-- and I didn't want to risk doing anything bad. Still, better than nothing.

My next-door neighbor's baby started sleeping through the night so she might be up for walking in the wee hours again soon. Rock on, that is much better than exercising alone.

(more editing: Did you ahve any damage from the storms? We did not, but a few people in the neighborhood did lose large tree limbs. Not whole trees, though.)

well,.... do ya punk??

Go ahead - make my day. Go ahead and make my day by saying THIS:

Well, I did spend 5 hours in the garage over the weekend with my bride, doing labor intensive things in the garage - moving stuff to shed, moving shelves and bricks back and forth, removing nails and screws and hung shelves, and painting the thing in it's entirety and then reassembling. Muscles are telling me that it counts as exercise. The three days prior, I was admittedly "under" on the exercising discipline but it can be explained by the "zilchness" of my eating. I'm trying to figure out next steps in my (career) life, which is always a trying time in which I take great effort to ask God to advise me (hence the no eating). Anyway, I still remained pretty active those three days with lawn mowing, housecleaning, strawberry pickin, music rehearsin and leadin, errand runnin, and graduation open housin.

I am pleased that there is great potential for us to open the door to some pretty good habits of "good choices." I'm continuing to meditate on the lifelong and spiritual implications though certainly appreciating the short term general joy and confidence boosts that come from the simple things like: better body shape, better sleep, more energy, knowledge of better health, etc. Aint nuttin wrong wit any o dat. True dat. Word.

I will keep you posted.

27 May 2008

may is ending soon

The lawnmowing and packing took all the time and energy as well as cooking on that fateful thursday. However, I'm pleased to report about 5 miles of hiking/running and much football throwing and horseshoe tossing and kickball playing over the camping weekend. Sweeeet! I don't know how to make this entry amusing. How about with a poem??!!:

Wed Nez Day

About 22 minutes on treadmill. Ellen is a good show to watch, because she dances. Mike Myers was on. His parents are British. He did this funny thing about how growing up in Canada his friends liked to come to the door to hear them talk, and so he did a hyper-Liverpool accent of his mom saying "Mike's not home" and then a hyper-Canadian accent of his friends' responses.

coolio

I don't know if the balloon popped yet, but I'm sure the world's a nicer place because of it, according to 70s group the Fifth Dimension:

The world's a nicer place now that it has my beautiful balloon
It wears a nicer face with my beautiful balloon
Love is waiting there in my beautiful balloon
Way up in the air in my beautiful balloon
If you'll hold my hand we'll chase your dream across the sky
For we can fly we can fly
Up, up and away
My beautiful, my beautiful (blue) balloon
Balloon...Up, up, and away.....

still probable

Looks like all systems are a go for thursday lawnmowing and potential additional exercise. I am writing this right now in effort to steer my big heart with the rudder of my small mouth(email). I will let you know how it went tomorrow.

And lastly, a question:
Do you remember when we accidentally let that balloon fly out of the car? Do you think it popped yet??

Tuesday, Tuesday, Pudding and Pie

No exercising for me on Tuesday. It's always hard when the girls have swimming, and a late afternoon headache did not help matters. I took meds, and they vanquished the headache, but I had a weird "hungry" feeling all evening, even after eating. (I think a side effect of the pseudoephedrine.)

I went to bed early, and I don't mean "went to bed early." (Euphemism used in our household....as in "Let's go to bed early, wink wink, nudge nudge")

Today should be better. Will also be sprinting to do laundry etc. in mad dash to get packed for camping! I also have book club on Thursday night which will be getting in the way of prime packing time.

other brother daryll

Okay. After all the hype of a "three in a row", it most certainly did not happen. Let us not forget the buzz from the astounding "two in a row" however. When you think about the yo-ball toy, you think....why shouldn't you smack your siblings head with the plastic ball...it's no big deal? Similarly, I think in my heart I was like "dude, I walked 2 days in a row, don't you think eating enchiladas and paying bills and cleaning your room and then eating spoonfuls of peanut butter and jelly are in order?

Dr Shazz: Alex, I'll take "three in a row" for two hundred.

Mr. Trebec: Answer: I don't think so, pal!

Dr Shazzmonds: What is "my response to walking tonight on the treadmill?"

Mr: right.

Dr: for four hundred please

Mr: oooh Daily double!! You can risk up to 3000.

Dr: I would like to make it a true daily double.

Mr: answer: giving it your all mowing the lawn and possibly hitting the treadmill also

Dr: what is....uh....thursday before mad scramble of packing for camping trip??

Mr: right!!!

Fans go nutz. All blogreaders are inspired and elated continuingly and joyfully!

Geeze Louise this is groovy!!!

20 May 2008

Bump on the frog on the blog.....

No spinach for us either. We had Indian curry--chicken, cauliflower, green beans, and brown rice, plus garlic naan. And we'll have it again tonight after the girls finish swimming. (Ella will complain but too bad for her!)

Did you see Cousin Barbara will be in town on Tuesday? Obviously you are invited to any festivities, including ISI music program. You can hear Ella sing in French--- "Jaunte le meule, tikka tikka takka" (something about a windmill....), and if my prediction is correct, her singing it to you solo afterwards will be more pleasurable than hearing the whole group sing it at the concert, but you never know.

40 minutes, at 5% incline? That sounds like some kind of triple-dog dare. But just as I will stick to my guns about not sticking my tongue to a frozen pole, I will also stick to "no incline" for awhile longer. I'm no thrill seeker. 3.5 mph is about what I aim for too. when I do the funny stuff with my arms, I hit the ceiling. Rock on, I'm so tall.

frog on the blog on the hole in the bottom of the sea

No spinach in my turkey sandwich last night. Happy to report another 40 minutes of sweat on the treadmill though - 3.5 mph at 5 percent incline again (which is moderately fast walk for me).

Joon Ree commercial say "nobody bodduh me.".
And, for the record, Kemp Mill records breaks its own records.

It feels good to have done a "two (exercisings) in a row" for the first time in ages!

That is way less scary than two exorcisings in a row by the way.

Planning on a mind blowing "three in a row" tonight just cuz it looks like the schedule may lock down tighter as the week advances. Smoke em if you gottem, right??

For the record, I'm totally inspired by the gardener over there yonder. WORD.

19 May 2008

~30 minutes on treadmill

Did about 30 minutes on treadmill while watching end of My Name is Earl finale and end of The Office finale. Also did some back and leg stretches. Huzzah!

Now must go make super-healthy dinner para mi familia.

Que bueno!

My Very Own Popeye

Ok, how did we ALREADY get comment SPAM? I guess I will ignore it!

Yesterday I planted 50 ajuga plants, transplanted a volunteer sedum from one location to a better location 2 feet away, dragged some tree limbs from the yard to the driveway where they are just as unsightly but at least aren't killing any grass, and did some weeding. Again, probably not exercise, but I do appear to have aggravated the nerve that runs up the back of my neck to the top of my h ead, because I'm getting one of my stabbing headaches and when I rub the stabbed part it tingles all down that side of my neck......Woot!

I think I will drag Ella on a walk after school. THAT IS MY PLAN. In the meantime, I will do gentle neck stretching.

Ate lamb stew at Mom's last night. She served it with spinach salad.

Lydia, out of the blue: "Mocia, thank you SO MUCH for making this delicious spinach."

Dad: "Have you been practicing with her all day or what?"

so sue me, the girl likes spinach! I love it. She didn't want any of her main dish; just more spinach. (And she even likes lamb......)

saturday

I think the garden stuff counts in some regard. I did manual labor on saturday, tweaking and moving old cabinets at Sr. Millers, unloading and moving 100 bricks, - all causing sweat even in cool breezy temps. If you were squatting and moving and extending beyond day's normalcy, you get some sort of sticker for the merit badge book in my book. Keep on bookin. GO SPEEDRACER GO!!!

testing and then some!

I am testing from the blackberry cuz that's what I have at my disposal. And speaking of disposal, most of my sunday went down it as we watched like 3 discs worth (is that possible?) of season 1 of heroes. I will say that I did hop on the treadmill at 3.5 mph at a 5 percent incline for 40 minutes during one of the episodes. Yay!! It was better than Cats, I will do it again. I tricked my wife into doing the same and while she was doing hers, I played with a 15 pound dumbbell doing tris, bis, and shoulders, and then did modified pushups against halfwall (not lying down and not standing but somewhere in between) - all during a different episode. I am telling you, the dvd was so engaging I didn't think at all about the exercising.

17 May 2008

Testing, testing

I don't know why the photo of you is smaller than the photo of me. They were both supposed to "shrink to fit" the same size space. Feel free to change to better photos. I was TRYING to find action shots of everyone, but puhleeze, I am never in action. Actually, I think I could find a "dancing fool" photo of myself from Shana's wedding, but it's not on this computer. Perhaps later......

And now, allow me to test the photo-posting capability. Because, why not?
Ok this isn't doing exactly what I wanted, but it will work. Now I see that when I printed this photo, I cropped it. Why don't I have the good version handy? Grrr..... That is all.

Ok, this isn't doing what I was expecting.....

I still didn't exercise.

Unless you count planting a bunch of plants as exercise. I'm sure it was better than what I do on weekdays........
